Although some believe that sunblock and sunscreen are both the same, they are not, only they have some of the similar qualities

Sunblock

Sunblock is opaque and is stronger than sunscreen since it is able to block majority of the UVA/UVB rays and radiation from the sun, thus not having to be reapplied several times a day. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are two of the important ingredients in sunblock.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is more transparent once applied to the skin and also has the ability to protect against UVA/UVB rays as well. Although the sunscreen's ingredients have the ability to break down at a faster rate once exposed to sunlight, and some of the radiation is able to penetrate to the skin. In order for sunscreen to be more effective you'll have to consistently reapply and use a higher spf.

That's why I only use sunblock, and not sunscreen. Sunscreen can still give you a little tan and sunblock has came a long way, there are some really good ones out there that can blend with the skin really well and still work really well by blocking the rays.

I don't like sun blocks with Titanium Dioxide when use, it give my skin a weird greyish tint.

yeah, I heard that a lot, especially from people who make there own sunblock that this can give a chalky feel and appearance. The only one I have been using for the past year and a half was the Neutrogena and I don't know how they did it, but it didn't leave the pasy greyish color on my face and it absorbed really well.

I think I had tried only 3 or 4 different sunblocks and most of them gave me that thick chalky grey appearance, even others knew that I was wering sunblock.

Cordellpuss can you chat online right now or check your pm I just sent you?

The one for sensitive skin Neutrogena Pure & baby sunblock stick spf 60 I had used contains 6% Titanium dioxide, although for babies I stil used it. The one I'm current using is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer spf 55 which contains 3.0% Avobenzone, 7.0% Homosalate 10.0% Octinoxate 5.0%, Octisalate 2.8% Oxybenzone 6.0% which is probably why it's considered as "sheer". I had tried a few others at different strengths as well.

La Roche Posay has a very positive reputation as for sunblock. I plan to pick one up later today.

Well I have used Banana Boat spf 50 and it works great. There is no smell, nongreasy, has a sheer formula and seeps into the skin quite well.

I have used Nivea and it was nice but not cheap, another one is Coppertone which is an old and IMO a reliable brand
