1 What do you think of matte eye shadows? on Sat Mar 20, 2010 3:54 pm

are they liquid or dry?

To obtain the matte look it is usually a powder showder that you apply. I personaly think it is more longer lasting and tends not to crease too much in the eye area. I also think it is easier to apply and requires a lot less dragging of the skin as opposed to cream shadows etc.

do you think dragging the skin can make my skin around my eye to wrinkle sooner?

Yes ! dragging the skin around your eye can wrinkle sooner, because the skin around the eye is very delicate and naturally thinner than the rest of your face.

Agrees- dragging the skin is a no no. So even when applying creams, serums etc to this area, a very, very gentle application is a must. Use your "ring" finger to help you be as gentle as possible and tap gently to help your product absorb.

Quiet Type
Quiet Type
Matte eyeshadow is at type of cosmetic product applied to the eyelids for a more attractive appearance. Matte refers to the look of the eyeshadow; matte
eyeshadow is flat and does not contain any light reflectors, whereas
other types of eyeshadow may appear to be shiny. Some people mix
different types of eyeshadow for a more customized appearance.
eyeshadow comes in many colors, and may be available in a cream or
powder form. It is generally worn during the day, for a more subtle
appearance, whereas shiny or shimmery eyeshadow may be worn more often
in the evening to look more glamorous. Both types of eyeshadow
typically have the same silky texture to go onto the eyelids smoothly.
Though some people choose to apply an eyeshadow primer first, it may not be necessary to do so with this type of matte eyeshadow.

I honestly think that Urban Decay makes the best matte eye shadows. They're smooth, finely milled, and not powdery at all. MAC mattes are nice too, but Urban Decay's are just better in terms of the formula. In terms of the shades, I like MAC's shade selection better.
I recommend the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette, which retails for $27 for 5 matte eye shadows and 1 eye shadow with a sheen (somewhat of a semi-matte, or satin-y finish). All the shades are neutrals.
