First topic message reminder :

Thanks to Maharani, I have been using Mequinol 10% on the scars on my arms now for almost a week now. Although some of the scar areas have faded some and not too large in size overall, I'm going to see if the mequinol/tretinoin can further remove the darkened areas. It does have a stinky smell LOL, so personally I prefer to use it at night and it is like a thick vaseline formulation, so little is needed as it melts as I rub it in.

Keep in mind, it is recommended that you use retin-a (tretinoin) along with mequinol in order for effective penetration and results. So, I'll keep everyone updated.

The skin will peel and you just take it off I guess.

What type of moisturiser would you suggest? And how did the interview go? Did your womanly charm work? Wink

The wait is over my little minions lol and................................ I don't know yet lol

For moisturiser I would say something with vitamin E like St. Ives or shea butter & oatmeal.

PorcelainSkin,

I am glad to hear that you are ready to get your regime under way. You can use the likas to wash your face beforehand. Remember to allow your face to dry for at least 20 minutes before applying the Retin A, otherwise you can cause irritation. As you will be using it at night only, then the Retin a should be fine by itself. If you find your skin feels particularly dry, then the simple moisturisers that I mentioned before like cetaphil, eucerin, E45 . aveeno can also be applied to alleviate the dryness. As it is a low percentage Retin A , I don't think you should have any prblems with starting off every other night and then building up to nightly. You have to see how your skin feels and then decide when you are ready to do this.

In general it is best to let the skin peel by itself to avoid removing skin that is not yet ready to peel and then causing possible hyperpigmentation. However if you have any flakiness, then you can very very gently use a microfibre cloth to remove them. It is important not to overdo this though.

Let us know if there anything else we can help you with.

.

You only really need to apply the moisturiser if you feel any dryness in your skin, so apply the retin A after 20 minutes and then if after a while your skin feels dry and uncomfortable then you can apply the moisturiser.

Oh okay, great. Is retin-a gel moisturising though? Or does it really feel wet like gel? Or perhaps I could apply vitamin c serum for extra radiance? ????
