First topic message reminder :

Thanks to Maharani, I have been using Mequinol 10% on the scars on my arms now for almost a week now. Although some of the scar areas have faded some and not too large in size overall, I'm going to see if the mequinol/tretinoin can further remove the darkened areas. It does have a stinky smell LOL, so personally I prefer to use it at night and it is like a thick vaseline formulation, so little is needed as it melts as I rub it in.

Keep in mind, it is recommended that you use retin-a (tretinoin) along with mequinol in order for effective penetration and results. So, I'll keep everyone updated.

some people think it is.

well, theres always depigmentation your look like M.J, be really pae and vary sensitive to the sun, hence the umbrella he walked around with all the time.

if done right. all your melanocytes should be dead, the cells that make melanin and you wont need to maintain anything.

Where can I get makari products? Do you think I can lighten my skin tone by two shades in 4 months? Because I hear natural products take longer than those containing hydroquinone? And I can use the hydroquinone products for elbows and knees right? My arms have become noticeably darker, i was using a cheap skin lightening soap and they started getting darker, and I am hardly in the sun, I use an umbrella wherever I go, but do you think UV rays still go through the umbrella? I do not use sunscreen at all and I need to start using it ASAP.. Any sunscreen above spf 70 is fine right? Or do some work better than others?

Spf 70 should be fine but pick one that isn't greasy. The makari products you can find online, I belive the address is makaridesui.com or just google makari and you'll be able to find the page. As for being able to achieve the desired result in two months? I really cany say, it depends on your skin really. You could use makarai for the body and hq for the elbows and other stubborn areas but be aware makari is not cheap but I have heard good things about them

Yes you can look like mj but he had vitiligo and so the mono worked faster on him then it would for someone with healthy skin. However, some do get color back but it is more of an unever dark color and then some simply get white streaks that never go away. Mono really is a toss up if ever there was one.

It is also possible to keep lightening once you've stopped using mono and become albino white which means you have zero protection from the sun

I definitely do not want to go albino like, I don't want serious MJ skin lightening, I just want to go only two shades lighter, maybe three, but more like two. Is the Mequinol still necessary for me?

If its too greasy its hard to rub in and can block the pores creating pimples.

I use banna boat spf 50 which is a sheer formula and coppertone spf 70 meant for the face, they rub in very easily

Are you still just applying it on your neck/ears/chest/arms/ and scars or are you applying it on your whole body?

Yes, constantly on my elbow esecially. But, I'm finally able to see the hyperpigmentation fading away and smoother as well...so it's worth the trip. I haven;t began using it as an all body lightener yet. I wanted to check how my skin reacts to mequinol first by testing smaller areas since I have sensitive skin..you know, no burning yet either but perhaps because the areas I'm treating are rather small. I am considering it as one of my options to lighten the whole body.

Makari lightened me well in the past, a few majo drawbacks is that they give many peopls acne outbreaks and dark acne marks, very oily, and the prices are quite high. Members can show before/after photos of themselves here for other contributing members here so here is the links you can see. I posted my use of makari during my use with it.

Also, about mequinol yes it is in the same family as hydroquinone and is a phenol. Same for monobenzone in the hydroquinone family but they are not considered as the same and come with different reactions and effects.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a nice Makari facial moisturiser for radiance (I am only 22 years old though), lightening, remove pigmentation, a few rashes and blemishes from my face. Which would you recommend? What does the Makari Skin Repairing & Clarifying Serum do?

I'm thinking of using the Mq too.. I have a few small scars on my hands and legs, can I use the Mq too? What would you recommend for lightening my lips too? Because I want to also lighten my elbows and knees.

Good thinking, doing a sort of patch test. When and if you decide to use it on your whole body it might be a good idea to use it on one body part; say an arm or leg. This way you can see how it might be on your whole body Smile

Anywho back to watching my TB lol

why aren't people seeing good results with MQ?

Members here are seeing good results with mq that I know of. I used it with retin-a on scars on my arm and on my elbows and I they have helped fade them. Mequinol isn't a fast lightener, but it is consistent, has potential, and best used with reint-a 2-5% mq strength.
