Hi, I want to know more on raw food diets I here some mentioning here. That it can also help lighten skin and I'm guessing it helps you to lose weight since it's fruits and vegetaable, which I'm trying to lose some weight. Ok so far I lost 5 lbs! but I want to lose more and if it can also lighten my skin then that's 2 smiles Smile Smile.

Anyone who has done this or knowledge on this please share with me.

My sister's boyfriend has and IS still doing the raw food diet. He decided to do it after suffering for a long time with knee problems and so decided to take a look at his overall health and weight. HE is unrecognisable !! The amount of weight he has lost has actually made people question whether he was ill or something. He does actually look gaunt and going from someone who is tall and previously very heavyily built, the transformation has been dramatic. I have read that some believe that a raw diet can have an impact on lightening, but looking at him, I see absolutely no lightening and he is religious about the diet. It has been totally raw for about 10 momths now.

My sister has also embraced the concept, but has not been so meticulous about it, so has cooked food and meat twice a week. She too has lost weight, which has been about 4 stones so far.

I know that this regime really is very good for you, but I do think you really have to embrace it wholeheartedly, as it is very hard to follow, especially if you live with others that have not adopted the idea.

In terms of lightening I have heard that there are some vegetables that are still off limits, even if they are eaten raw and I am sure that even things like fruit are to be avoided, which I could not understand. Maybe that is why my brother in law did not see any lightening, as fruit is a big part of his diet. I am not sure how true any of this is, but if I find anything, will let you know.

I hope this is not for real because i'm eating every fruits and vegetable in this world thinking they will help with my skin lightening.

Perhaps it only works best if other methods are also being used to lighten the skin?

I agree that it alone would probably not get you any significant results but when used as part of a regime, may help with overall brightness.

One ancient Jewish sect, the Essenes, is said to have developed a primitive diet aimed at preparing the bodies, minds, and spirits of its membersfor the coming of a "messiah" who would deliver them from their Roman
captors.

Recently, I have tried a semi-raw food diet for about 2 weeks. Other than tuna and salmon, everything else I had eaten were fruits, vegetables, and grains. As well as lots of water, as I was aiming for 80-90oz of water daily, I was able to drink 50-66oz daily w/ lemon or lime juice. After a while I began craving for something different, but it was really beneficial for me. I believe if I did stick with it for at least 21 days, the cravings would have seized some. Though, I will give it another go for a longer period of time soon.

Raw food diets are what is in on the West Coast - they even have high end restaurants. Basically you can eat anything plant based (no raw meat, eggs, or milk) that hasn't been cooked over 108 degrees.
They make pasta out of spaghetti squash, noodles out of spiral cutting cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, and other root vegetables, and sauce is fresh pureed tomatoes with fresh herbs. A lot of sauces are pureed vegetables with herbs, and it can be over other vegetables or the so called pasta above, or they do dehydrate grain/seed/nut combination's. Flaxseed biscuits are all the rage right now. Basically they are like dried crackers. And a lot of stuffed vegetables with soaked or sprouted grains and seeds, with a sprinkling of nuts over the top.

My cousin started the raw food diet due to health reasons and to be honest I did not think she would be able to stick to it as her eating habits before were quite bad but she has kept it up for more than a year now and seems to be reaping real benefits from it. I don't think she even misses junk food now. I do understand that it may not be for everyone though. I doubt I could be that disciplined.

I was actually thinking raw food diet applies to all the food that isn't cooked or half-cooked. I can't imagine myself eating those. Fruits is great for the body but never thought it could lighten our skin, never read something about it so far. In my case, I think I can't live eating only fruits for my everyday meal.

Calorie intake is just the same!

Do you see the box near the top of the page?
The one labelled 'Search for questions: '?
Well type in 'lose weight'.
You will find over 23,000 pre-existing questions.
Try the misspellings 'loose weight' and there are another 6,500.
In all there are over 70,000 Health section questions requesting solutions to being or thinking you might be overweight.
On average these each yield 6 answers, that is over 420,000 answers.
