28.4gm Tube
Chemical Name: HYDROQUINONE WITH SUNSCREEN (HYE-droe-kwin-own with SUN-screen)
Common uses
Alphaquin Hp 4-5-7.5% Cream is a skin bleaching agent used to treat freckles, age spots, and other skin discolorations that may occur due to pregnancy, skin trauma, the use of birth control pills, or hormone replacement therapy. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. ... drugstore.com info.
Has anyone ever used this before and if so, what were your results?
I am not sure that you can get this without a prescription. It comes with side effects such as itching, burning etc.

So it's an Hq brand name, did it say the amount of spf for sunscreen? The side effects are typical with hydroquinone and if it's a name brand then most likely requires a prescription. I know some members here use the generic hydroquinone brand so theres no need for a prescription and is cheaper. How much does this cost?

LNY,
It cost a whopping $42.50 plus shipping. I only buy the generic HQ as well as the RA. Funny you should mention about the sunscreen because no where on the web does it list the spf? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I

Again, I am not sure if it requires a prescription. I know that I can purchase the RA here in the states without a prescription but it is costly. $75 from Obagi. I'll pass.

That's a pricey amount of money to pay..lol.
$75 for retin A?! Yeah, I'll have to pass as well. Allure, I purchase my retin-A from All Day Chemist now for about 6-7 months now, it's about $2-3 per tube. Although s&h is high ($25) but it's a fixed price so I usually order in bulk.

Thank goodness for places like ADC I say !!! This is where specialists in the UK have been able to take a real advantage of the ban, as they can charge FROM around £45 for HQ with Retin A and that does not include their consultation fee.

allure,

I wonder why they they have not specified the spf. Even with products like extra strength Nadinola, that states that sunscreen has been included, I like to apply my own sunblock in addition, so I know exatly what protection I am getting.

It's probably not that much spf in it, but they should say how much. Why do companies charge so much for these products???

I agree with everyone here, the prices are way too ridiculous for some of these products. For example obagi markets their retin a for $75, there is no way I would buy that!
GG, I too get my RA from ADC...it is pretty cheap. I made my order again about 2 wks ago...I praying that it gets here fast! I have used my last one mixing the MQ!
Re: Alphaquin - I bet my bottom dollar that it has a very low spf, maybe a 10 or a 15.
Maharani, right now I'm using Aveeno spf 70 for face but will be ordering something that has a spf 100 or more. I am planning on taking vacation pretty soon and even though I love the way my skin looks after a good 'sunning' - bronze, I will not chance getting burned. Obagi, it's so unfair how they charge people to buy their name. How long does ADC order arrive to you? For me it usually takes around 2 weeks, but once it had taken a month in a half to arrive and I was so nervous. Yeah, I also think Alphaquin may have low spf.

I hear good things abut the Aveeno spf. Does it leave anygray cast or is it quite absorbing for you?

GG I normally get my shipment from ADC in a 2 wk period but now ... it's already been 2 wks! I am dying to get them seeing I have just a tiny bit using on my face at nights (almost out!)
Aveeno spf 70 for face is great! I tend to suffer from acne flair ups but not with this. It doesn't leave a gray film and my make up slides right on! I love it and a little goes a long way.

Hmm that sounds like you're paying more for the name then the product. Ny cousin used the obagi system,as did I, and you go through a loooooong fugly phase lol. But it does rejuvinate the skin but it peels really bad, like ret a and hq times a 100. I would only use it if you have bad narks on your face like fron lupus or something.

I use coppertone spf 75, I just like them and they were good to me when I was a kid Very Happy.

Quick question: does $65 for 20 bottles of ret a sound good? Or is that overpriced?

Alizee $65 for 20 tubes of retin a would work out to about 3.25 each. I think I got mine for $2.00 a pop but then again shipping was $25, how much was your shipping? Where are you buying from?

Alizee, have you used 5%HQ before? If so, what were your results? I have used the obagi and even though it was costly I got great gifts with my purchase plus each week this company in PA sends me coupons and specials. I'd rather just stick with ADC!

Allure I have never used any whitening crean, I'm currently using f&w . I did use obagi once before and it was a real pain but it did make my skin flawless after I was done. I don't think I would do it again though....at least not for a long time lol

That's good that Aveeno has nice sunblock too and high spf. UVA/UVB protection as well? Has anyone tried the La roche sunblock? I read that it is also very good.

A while back, I did post a copy of the original Kligman's Hq formula for anyone ever interested [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , which was formulated at 5% and used by dermatologists. 4% is my preferred, but 5% formula I wouldn't mind of temporarily use for the body.

The Kilman's formula sounds great and people seemed satisfied with it. It is just a hassle to mix though, don't you think? Where would I get HQ powder? I found a source for HQ powder and it didn't list the percentage. It is sold at photo shops online. It cannot be delivered by air but ground. I think that they use this to make weapons too? Not sure about that but I vaguely remembered that someone was ordering the HQ powder a lot and she was placed on a national threat watch? If you have heard of this, please confirm.
I would love to use the HQ 5% though...mix it in lotion and I am good!

Alizee I know what you mean about getting your skin damaged. I am currently doing a research on the deoxyarbutin. I found a supplier and sent them an email enquiring how much it will cost. The percentage is low .1-3%. This is an option for later on.
I have never used alphaquin hp mainly because it is so costly and because I am already using the MQ.

aw best not to go overboard.
I am looking into Pure perfect, hq with ret a, or meq with ret a. I am unsure of which but whichever I pick I will use kojic soap to exfoliate and then put the cream on afterwards, I think I will do it twice a day then once I achieve whatever shade I want I will switch to three times a week and I should probably only exfoliate every other day when I start; don't want to overexfoliate

I am with you! When I use the Kojic soap on my face, I let it sit for a while and after I wash it, my face is taut! I don't normally moisturize until later unless I am going out.

yeah I like that feeling too.
But I'm worried about overexfoliating so I usually use St. Ives Apricot scrub every morning and sometimes I'll use what little bit of Proactive I still have, I really don't need it and haven't since I was a teen

Alizee be careful of using proactiv because it contains benzoyl peroxide when using HQ products as this will darken the skin.

Yes I have heard that Benzoyl Peroxide, can stain the skin, when used with HQ. I guess if you don't need it anymore, then just leave it out.
