1 What's it like where you are ? on Mon Jun 14, 2010 12:24 pm

Was thinking today, it would be nice to know what the weather is like where other members are, so we get an idea what we are up against in terms of lightening and protecting ourselves in the sun, where possible.

I am in London and the weather today is 21 oC, started off sunny but as I write, it has started to rain. In the last few weeks it has been very warm, in UK terms, at around 26 - 28 oC with clear blue skies and strong sunshine.

Now I know some of you are in much warmer climates, like California, so would love to know what the weather has been up to where you are. ..........

oooh....... I guess I should stop complaining when I think the weather is getting warmer. We do sometimes hit the 90's but in general it does not last too long. Hot and humid, I do not like.

Horrible weather here. Just horrible!!! Down in the southern States, the weather is pushing almost 100 degrees fahrenheit..ealry to mid 90's to be exact..from early morning until evening. Don't forget the high humidity which makes it feel even hotter. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I hate it really...because it's just the beginning and will have a long ways to go until it cools off eventually.

So...I have been using my umbrella faithfully, helps little but I guess the only way to be it is to relocate..again.

First let me say to those of you in cooler climmates I'm glad for but but deep down I'm bitter lol. *hugs*

I'm in California and I must say it has not been too hot, but its no seventy degrees either, by nine in the morning its about 80 but the average weather has been early to mid ninties which is odd for mid June where I'm at.

My aunt is in Seattle, lucky b*tch, so it gets to the sixties tops and rains Mad

I've been staying indoors and have been missing out on my jogs but hey I've got my True Blood, SYTYCD and various movies on HBO,Starz and Showtime

Where did you live before? Was it less disgusting during this time of year?
I once drove through Oklahoma and it was horrible, I took a shower and I was sweating while washing off; I felt like I had taken a shower in baby oil yuck.

Oh NO !!! Sounds like you could fry an egg on the bonnet of the car kinda weather. Just thinking about it makes me uncomfortable. In that sort of heat I guess no one can question why you have an umbrella up.

Oh another poor soul......LOL. It must be fustrating if you wanna go out and do your running. That's why I look forward to autumn winter, where I can walk to my hearts content, especially when it starts to get dark at 4 pm. I love it.

Have always fancied going to Seattle. That's where Frasier is based, right? Somehow the show has made it inviting to me....Maybe one day.......

Alizee love,

I am feeling for you, hun !!! There is nothing worse in my mind, than not being able to get cool.

You are remindimg me now of my journeys in the summer on the underground trains in London where you are crammed in like sardines, sweat dripping from your nose and having to sniff someones smelly armpits as their arm is crammed into your face.....Absolutely awful. I used to hate it. You would come off the train feeling dirty. I have never been able to understand how we can put someone on the moon, but yet cannot install any sort of air conditioning on these trains.

Yeah Frasier is set in Seattle and if you like green, you'll like Seattle lol.

Fall/winter is my favorite season, especially if I get tovisit France during such time. The parks are so beautiful and the more north you get and closer to the German boarder, the more snow. Even during summer it does not get too hot. It is impossible to get cool when its 100 and that's is another reason I like winter, I can always warm myself if I wish.

Ugh I know to well about the metro. New York is pretty bad with the skeevy people and the questionable stains on the seats. In France you might get someone cut you and then yell at you when you call them out on it, especially the bourgesoise( I so spelt that wrong lol)

Ooh you're making me want to go to Seattle even more now !!!

Yes I was not fond of the New york trains either, when I visited. There is something a touch depressing about them. Our trains in London may be overcrowded in the rush hour, but at least they are bright and more cheerful. I went with my friend to NY three times and each occasion we went on the subway, I was thinking this is so depressing and it was tad intimidating. Could not wait to get above ground.

i love the new York trains. graffiti, the train smell, the sound it makes when it's on it's way to the stop. walking on the sidewalk vents felling that rush of air coming out from the trains running underneath.
i love new york
