Just thinking about all these high profiile marriages, where the husband is found out to be a cheater, but the wives stick by them. thinking of Bill Clinton, David Beckham, Tiger Woods and a whole lot more.

David Beckham cheated? For some reason the U.S. praises their relationship.

In my opinion, if they were together after the guy made it big...it may, have something to do with the high-status and wealth. And if the woman knew him when he was struggling and no one knew his name, assisting him with his goals, then it may be the loving past and children that makes it difficult to completely separate from. Though, I may be incorrect.
Although Tiger Woods is a great golf player, I never cared for him at all from due to how he negatively views women of color. Bill Clinton I never admired before his affair came to surface, nor surprised of what he had did...I just never trusted him.

I pray Obama is how I continue to invision him, I believe he has a good woman by his side and was there before he made it. I understand no one is perfect and we all have our flaws, but there needs to be a line drawn somewhere.

Yes David Beckham had an affair with the Nanny, one of the reasons Posh was happy to leave Europe.

This is the lady in question, Rebecca Loos, who I must add made a career out of the affair by a being a z lister and appearing on mini celebrity shows and as you can see modeling .

I too hope that Obama does not even think about crossing that line. It would be a terrible let down.

I am not defending any of these men, but sometimes these women see these men in a high position of power or celebrity and literally throw themselves at them. Some self control is definitely required.

That's the nanny?
I had always had pre-set in my mind that if I were ever decide to get a nanny, she would be old enough to be my grandmother, grey hair and all. The pressure of many other women throwing their selves at successful men, it only makes it more enticing to them when the man is married...be able to chase after something that is forbidden. I find these type of women quite evil, in all honesty.

The freedom and power I think can be intoxicating, yet far from excuse. I often hear that majority of basketball players also commonly cheat on their women. I remember loving the Spice Girls growing up, especially Scary Spice and her wildness.

I know that it can be difficult to keep the personal life from the spotlight, but I think their marriage wouldn't suffer so much if it was more private. Why the women decide to stay? I'm not sure, maybe for their families and maybe the husbands plead for them to stay mostly.

@ GG, Yes it is common to picture a nanny as looking like your granny However often it is a much younger woman who is preferred as usually you want someone who can keep up with the kids, be active with them, take them out and run about, almost a replacement to the Mum.

yes I agree, I guess everyone would rather that any infidelity was not in the spotlight for everyone to discuss and speculate. Apart from the embarrassment of knowing that everyone knows your man has strayed, the hurt you must feel just gets magnified one hundred fold, especially if the gory details also leak out. It's one thing to know about the deceit, but to hear a blow by blow account by the mistress must just cut like a knife.

I think that trying to put your kids first by maybe thinking that keeping the unit together is for the best, is a very unselfish thing to do, but it must be so hard to get back that trust and move forward from it. There may always be that doubt of it happening again and the worry that whatever made him do it in the first place is still there.

true. A male nanny is also an option or family members to pitch in if they could. But, I would hope not to be in a position that I would have to rely on needing one, but just in case a male or granny. This is popular in films with either the secretary or nanny becoming a mistress, and I'm the jealous type.

I reacall hearing about this too and that nanny is quite beautiful. Posh is too, shame on David Beckham. I don't even like him anymore.

If i have too hire a nanny it would have to be a male, no young girls in my house it's a noo noo.

I wouldn't ever cheat. I believe some gets caught up in the fame, money, and popularity they lose track of what's really important.

Often times I think they stay because a divorce would be too complicated. Between having to hire an attorney...divide property...custody agreements...if there were prenups...etc., etc.

It's probably easier to try and work it out, for what it's worth...or postpone things for the time being, and from there they probably just let it gone.

And I guess it would work out a lot cheaper as well. I guess the guy would be doing some major sucking up after that, to make sure that things didn't escalate into a divorce.

But does anyone also think that the women are also aware that possibly alone they are not as great a commodity as they are as part of that particular couple. For example, posh (Victoria beckham) was not the most popular spice girl , but when she hooked up with David, people warmed more to her and MAYBE the thought of losing her David would also mean losing that attention they receive as a COUPLE. There is also a part of me that also believes that she thinks that she was very Lucky to get hold of him in the first place and that there are many women who would jump into her shoes, if she ever left, so she could never bear to lose him, even though he was the unfaithful one.

I would leave the guy that would try to do that to me. He should really consider if he is or is not ready for marriage. Or if he wants to be a player. I'm sure he would not want his wife to cheat on him like that, he should be more responsible.

I definitley agree that David is far more popular than her and if it was not for him, I doubt she would be where she is now i.e clothing and perfume collection, as well as a bit of a style icon for some.

I do think she needs him more than he needs her. Sad , I know, but I think that's the truth. Even when it was uncovered that he had had the affair, he was not really hated as much as you may think. I think the mistress got more grief !!
