Hi everyone.
I want to share my old skin regime with you.I hope it helps someone.I don't use it anymore cos there is a particular ingredient that I can't find here.
This regime need a lot of patience!
I begin with a lightening and exfoliating scrub that consist of the following ingredients.
*Bath salt
*Cooking salt
*Half a lemon
*Egg white
*Honey
*Laxative(This is what i can't find.I used a particular one.Sodium something...I have forgotten.I never had to know the name cos when I walked into the pharmacy and asked for laxative,they gave you that particular one.I know the package)

Mix all these together for them to for a paste-not too thick and not too watery.The honey and lemon control the thickness.But note-don't use all the laxative.Just 1/3.ie one pack is used 3 times.

I used it to scrub my body beginning with the darkest areas.This scrub stayed on my skin for 30mins before I rinsed it off with water.
I did this everyday for like a month then i reduced it to 3 times a week.

At the time,I used So White and the serum.
For my face,I used a product called Peau de Lune to wipe and then the so white serum.

I adored the scrub.Its a pity that i cant find the laxative to continue.
It left my skin so so smooth and light.
If you know of something we can use to substitute the laxative,please share with us.

When you put this mixture on your skin, did you put it on your whole body for thirty minutes or did you do it a section at a time?

Hmm you could try various laxatives 'til you find the right one. Can't the pharmacist that used to sell it to you tell you which it was?

Your regime is interesting. I wonder what the active ingredient is in the laxative is that gives a lightening effect? Is that even possible?
In any case, I think regular exfoliation is important to keep skin smooth and glowing and salt is both economical and natural. I like home remedies that actuall work! Can you use regular table salt or is sea salt better?

Oh and how light do you think you got with this regimen?

Really? Were you able to try the laxative on it's own to see if it still gave lightening? And were all of the ingredients in the laxative safe to use for topical use?

Yes Calista,laxative does lighten.
When I say cooking salt...i mean regular salt.Vocab changes so much in this part of the world.Where I come from(lol),we call it cooking salt.
I wish I could try different laxatives but where do I start?It may take forever to know the one that is right.
With this regimen,for real...I got a good tone.Kind of pale fair.Oh...when i went home for week-end,my dad looked at me but really couldnt place it.The good thing is,it looks really natural.No kidding.There was this girl who actually asked me what i was using and I told her So White...lol.Come on...I couldn't tell her...oh you know,I sit in my toilet for 30mins everyday...
Well,the catch is I dont know if it was safe or not...the girl who gave me this regimen(I had to pay for it) told me that it was natural.Anyway...I guess I was concerned with the effects at the time...and I consoled myself that I wasnt going to use it forever.
For a fact,there is something in da laxative that lightened the skin.Why?This is cos I was told not to use a whole pack of the laxative cos it was "STRONG".1/3 was enough for the both on each session.I am gonnatry and get the name of the laxative and then maybe someone like GG could research and give us the vibes.We could also find an alternative.

So you don't know how many shades you lightend?

As for the laxatives I suppose we could start my looking at name brands such as ex-lax and go from there

Interesting idea, Hopefully topical use of the laxative is safe and this can be checked if you are able to get the details. I can't believe someone made you pay for the info though. It seems to always be about the money !!!

Well,mixing lightening creams and beauty concoctions is a business in some parts of the world.Yes...if you go to the market,you see stores of both men and women who mix lotions for the skin.
Some people go there every month to get their lotions. That is why some would never tell you what they put in it cos if they do,they lose a customer.
Sadly,some of these people who are in this business and the customers themselves do not know about the dangers of some ingredients they make use of...That is it.

stores that mix lotion for you, i'v never herd of that sounds nice.

They aren't as common in the US as they were years ago. Back when most people went tosmall independently owned stores, you could have lotions and such mixed for you but now most won't.

I have heard of this and I even met someone a few years back who was getting stuff reguarly made up for her, but had absolutely no idea what it was. This mix made her very very fair but she knew that once she stopped that she would darken significantly so continued despite the risks. She was also totally reliant on this person doing the mixing and so would have had a problem had this person upped and disappeared.

I would be terrified to even comtemplate this. I know that at the end of the day, if you let people know what you are mixing, it is more than likely they are going to start doing the mixing themselves, but like you said, some of these people may not have any idea that some of the stuff could be potentially dangerous. Mind you, I am sure that there are some that even if they knew, would not care anyway.

Ever heard the saying...what you don't know won't kill you?
Most of these people have no idea of what steroids are...talk less of the internal danger that superceeds the external.
They are contented with what they get in as far as they see desired results.
