Sorry was trying to upload some images but having problems. I just want to make it clear that we can all be beautiful and skin tone does not make anyone of us any better.

Yes they are beautiful individuals and if anyone decides that they do not want or need to lighten and just want to have a great complexion these are people to inspire you. Dark is beautiful too.

Not at all !!! I just know that there are some individuals for whom skin lightening products do not work. Therefore they will never be able to obtain a much lighter complexion unless they decide to use something possibly dangerous and that in the long run may cause all sort of damage. What do they do?? Condemn themselves for not being an "acceptable" skin hue. NO. They need to be able to appreciate that they can be beautiful and skin lightening does not = better.

So what are your thoughts on a very very dark skinned tone? Do you think that there is a limit that can be achieved?

well everyone is different but I think pretty much any one can achive a darker or lighter skin tone safely in 2010...it all has to do with educating ones self... patience, persistence and perseverance!

my views on dark skin...I've seen and met beautiful dark skinned people as well as light skinned...however, in this world...statistically speaking of course dark skin is considered abominable! appart from statistics that has been my expiernce. as beautiful as dark skin is GOTHQUEEN it serves mostly as a Hindrance. That is all I've been saying and I've been attacked for it...not on this forum and not by you but by other people on other forums, and in life... they tend to get really upset when I say that and they take it as a personal assult. but I think they're really angry because they know its true and the truth hurts...I for one am hurt by it...I'm NATURALLY DARK SKINNED...i mean I dont know why they think that I cant empathize, hello I'm one of the biggest victims! but ya...thats what is...and I have been denied opportunities in the world of literature and the world of acting because of my dark skin tone...I'm saying this to the general population for all who read this...if you think that world is not going to pre-judge you and not lable you becuase you are intellegent, kind, talented, gifted or just an all ground amazing person YOU ARE DEAD WRONG! THE WORLD SEES COLOR FIRST!

I get both points of view. I think it is important to make a stand against what is basically wrong. I have dark skinned nieces and nephews and I would hate the thought that they felt baad about themselves when they grow up. I also see what you are saying enticing. My mixed raced nieces and nephews get cooed over all the time and they are the naughtiest kids ever so I see that they get treated differently & can get away with murder. It's a mad world cyclops

This is the tragedy of the whole situation. People being treated differently merely on their physical appearance. No thought about what lies beneath and the possible hurt that may occur as a result of what I consider to be rejection. There is far too much discrimination going on in this world whether it be for being too fat, too thin, too short, too old, too ugly......People need to reject these shallow thoughts and look deeper
