Janet jackson admitted in an interview that she has deep insecurites stemming back to childood and being teased. However even though she is one of the most desired woman in the world she still is not completely confident about how she looks

I heard this story on the radio and found it terribly sad. Family don't realise the damage they do with hurtful comments. There is a part of me that really feels for her because I think that one of the many reasons for me having surgery myself was insecurities stemming from childhood. It's a shame that she does not realise how gorgoeus she is even now.

I have had the biggest crush on her for the longest time. I am sure I would know what to say to make all the insecurities go away. Some need to keep hearing how wonderful they really are to start believing. JJ bring your luscious self right over!!!!

I was teased as a kid about my ample derriere. I absolutely hated it and it meant that I was constantly in skirts and dresses and never wore trousers. It took me years of exercise to even contemplate putting on a pair of jeans and even now I wear long tops to cover my butt if I am wearing trousers. Looking at that Lola luv I was ahead of my time lol. Seriously though I really hate my behind and that stems from the constant jibes so I understand why Janet feels the way she does. It's good that she has spoken out about it because maybe it will help others see that we all have the same issues in one way or the other.

Kim you are a perfect case of the damage throw away comments can make. I bet the teasers have no clue that this has impacted on you this way and assume your wardrobe choice has just been a personal preference. Where I am there are many guys who love big butts and the bigger the better so you would have been adored lol



@ rainbow your gesture is to be really appreciated but I tend to find that the nasty commnents seem to stick in your head more than all the compliments in the world sadly.

Easier said than done for some but I think that we all have to start believing in ourselves and appreciate all the good things rather than dewelling on what we may think as bad. Yes it is a cruel world with lots of cruel people but we must not allow other people's opinions to cloud how we live our life


I will be honest and say that I was one of those people who hated to hear compliments and would brush them off but now I have learnt to say thank you and start believing that there is truth in what is being said. Any brushing off can be for the negative words because it comes from a negative place and we don't need to go there too.

I guess not but I am sure deep down with all the fan adoration she must have some sense of self belief. It really is true that the bad comments just stick so much more easier. Gothqueen I will have to take in your smart words and adopt them on a day to day basis.

Your absolutely right they have no clue about how upsetting I found it and that it made me so paranoid. If someone was ever sniggering behind me I was convinced it was because of my butt!!! I have met several guys who had admiration for my bum but I have always thought they were in the minority. One of them was devastated when I lost weightt and my hips were much smaller but the damage had been done and it was like a goal I had to achieve. To this day I hate the term child bearing hips!!!

Gothqueen great words. I think that we should all have a mantra that instils confidence on a daily basis. It can be a hostile world but as you said brushing off the bad and keeping the good in mind is so important for keeping us as good wholesome kind people

seems like the jackson kids had a traumatic childhood and explains a lot about their current lifestyle choices. guess it happens to everyone

Everyone has his/her own insecurities. The ones who don't have insecurities are the ones who thinks that they are perfect. For me, still no one in this world is perfect.

no one is perfect but you have to accept the way you are. Just keep yourself neat and clean, beauty doesn't only means outer looks, it comes from inside as well,, keep your soul fresh and clean and enjoy
