There are days when I wish I was muslim and could wear something to totally cover my body and face. It would make things so much easier when I am outside in terms of avoiding sunlight directly hitting me. Maybe it is not comfortable. I don't know anyone to ask about it. But I came across this item on ebay and thought would anyone seriously be able to wear it without people staring

OMG I am so the same.If I was not known in my area I might even think about donning one of those full coverage clothing items but know the neighbours would be twitching the curtains if I left the house like that never mind what my Mum would have to say. I always wondered whether it gets hot under there. That ebay item would definitely draw a lot of attention. It looks like something a bee keeper would put on lol

Lol you are both right in how that looks.

I had no idea that there is discussion about getting the veils nijab/ hiqab? sorry I don't know if that is the correct spelling or which is the one that covers the face but they are considering getting them banned form being worn in public in the UK. I know that you can't wear them in France at the moment but I never thought the UK would go down this route as well. They always seem so liberal about things

There is NO way I could get away with that or anyone else. It is a strip down to as little as possible type of area and someone might think you have some sort of illness or disease that you are trying to protect others from or even a facial disfigurement

You are not alone. burkhas etc are considered acceptable but that particular item would bring about far too much attention. Possibly even heckling and more. I would love to know where you could get away with that actually

Yeah I have been reading about that. I don't think it will happen. Like you say the uK tends to allow for freedom of expression and there would be far too many unhappy about the ban that I bet they would not put it through

Hahaha this is so funny who would thought you would willingly want to wear a niqab. Coming to think of it... it would save you from buying sunblock and makeup (maybe mascara for your eyes) Smile and it also helps during bad hair days. You could probably put on some DC on your hair and go about your usual work like nothings wrong. Have you ever wondered why arab women have beautiful ageless skin... Its cause they are covered up from the time they are born.

You are so right. I never thought about not having to wear make up if you didn't feel like it. That would be another saving for me lol And you are right about their skin being protected because of it. I was watching a tv programme and they did a close up of this girl's skin and she was about 19 or 20 and she had so many fine lines that were already there because of her big love of the sun I just could not believe it. She looked like she was in her mid thirties or something

This is so funny . you could definitely hide a multiple of sins under that get up. I am almost tempted to find out where the people who actually buy it, are from.

I see many young people with vey bad skin damage through massive amounts of sun exposure. My friend is one of them and as much as I try and guide her she will not give up sitting in the sun and getting sun bed treatments. She hates her skin being pale and says she is willing to take the risks. I know that some self tan products can make you look orange but there are some good ones out there that really there is no excuse to not fake it.

I wish skin lightening were as simple as self tanning lotions and you could put it on and watch the colour change. That would be a dream.

Indeed it would be a dream. Maybe one day it may happen. The creator of that would make a whole lot of money from that concept
