Hi! Smile

ever since I hit puberty, I have had pimples, but I have also these strange, flesh-colored bumps on my forehead.
I had acne very badly, so I have been on the contraceptive pill for two years now, and all my acne has completely gone, except the bumps on my forehead are still there! So I am sure these bumps are not acne.

Here are their characteristics:
- they are permananent, even after facials they are still there
- painless
- not itchy
- skin-colored
- only on forehead
- they do not have pus or anything /any liquidy type things inside the bumps
- they are not really that noticable, only in certain lighting
- they completely cover my forehead

My dermatoligist prescribed my Atralin, but it has not worked! I would be so grateful for any diagnosises, or recommendations!

thanks!!!!

I am no dermatologist but will try and help. How long have you been using your treatnment? Often you need to be doing it for some time before improvement is seen. I looked up the product you mentioned and it is basically tretinoin which is known for it is collagen boosting and exfoliating properties. So it looks as though your dermatolgist is trying to refresh your skin. Now I have not used themselves but some light peels like lactic acid might help. I believe you must stop using your tretinoin at least 24 -48 hours before and after the peels but this may help. Maybe you could ask your dermatolgist about this before you jump in there. Like I said I am no dermatolgist, but it may be worth trying in order to smooth the skin. Best of luck and hope you find your solution

I agree that a series of peels may prove helpful. Also like said above some tretinoin products need time to get to work so please find out from your derm how long he planned for you to be on this regime, as he has had the benefit of seeing the depth and extent of your skin condition. I would also say that you should discuss with him the option of peels. You should be able to do them yourself but he will be able to tell you if this is advisable or contra indicated. We do not want you to make your problem any worse. Please do let us know how it goes.

Use a metal pimple extractor with a small, round opening or loop on one end. Sterilize the extractor first by immersing in boiling water for five minutes. Dry and let cool. Encircle the blackhead and take your time. Use the looped side, apply pressure on the blackhead, and let the infected material come out. This should be done slowly and carefully. Do not apply pressure to the blackhead, as this may lead to infection and scarring.
