Have you tried Agave Nectar? It isn't as sweet as sugar but just as satisfying. It doesn't raise blood sugar either and it is said to be a good sweetner for diabetics because it has a very low glycemic index. (The glycemic index is a way of measuring the relative impact of foods on blood sugar levels.)
