Hope you find this useful: If your energy level takes a nosedive every afternoon, take a snack break to give yourself a boost. People often feel guilty about snacking, but healthful eating between meals can be a real bonus.

Try eating baby carrots, low-fat cheese, grapes, whole-grain cereals, low-fat crackers and other healthful snacks wherever you go. Vending machines may have healthy choices. Look for fresh fruit and juice, pretzels, low-fat yogurt or raisins.

Healthful snacking can fit into any eating plan. Make time for snacks during your day and beat afternoon fatigue.

lol...me too. I sometimes get a weakness for dark chocolates. I remember one of my friends who were visiting me in Ethiopia, and when she went back to her home in Italy I was so excited she sent me a whole box of assorted dark chocolate bars...so I would treat my self to a piece in the morning and then since I walked everywhere, I just walked the calories off during the day..honestly I hid them from my friends and housemates when they would ask me what was I eating..lol.

Oh I thought I was the only one who hides her choccies fom others. I have a really bad sweet tooth, which I am really try to curb. Any ideas.? Please don't say have fruit instead. I do eat fruit BUT it cannot take the place of my sweeties !!

Yeah, I did feel a little guilty when my friends discovered my hidden chocolates..but that didn't last long. But pure dark, semi-sweet chocolate actually has quite several benefits when eaten in moderation is fine, rich in antioxidants and higher in iron the greater it's purity. Now milk chocolate which is also great, unfortunately has less of it's benefits.

Now idea with fruit...lol. Try strawberries dipped in chocolate, chocolate covered bananas, chocolate covered peanuts..LOL. Well, it's fruit and cocoa.

lol, just joking..sort of. But, I cut up and add a bunch of fruit and ice to my blender or sometimes I freeze the fruit for a while and then throw it in the blender so no additional ice is needed. Then I sometimes add a little Splenda or Stevia sweetener to give it more of a kick and more sweetness (some people use honey instead).

I usually add fresh lemon juice to liven it up and bring out the flavors, and sometimes bananas gives it more of a nice taste without the creme. I use any fruit, sometimes adding a little green kale or spinache for color and get the veggies in. I sometimes add in my vitamins too since I hate taking pills.

Yeah I do sometimes make smoothies and it is also nice when I freeze it as well. A bit like a sorbet. Well maybe I need to step up on this, especially as I know how good it is for you.

Anyone tried growing their own fruits? I like making a fruit salad, put it in a container so I can eat throughout the day.

Haven't tried it personally, but my my sister bought a fruit tree for my Mum and it bears the tiniest of pears. One bite and it's gone !!! Actually it would probably go nicely in your fruit container.

Did the pear taste good? maybe some super fertilizer can help give them their boost. Nope, I never tried growing anything. never really considered it.

well my Mum was too mean to even think about asking if I would like to try it. unfortunately the tree only bore ONE pear. I know she enjoyed it though !!! Maybe this year we will get at least 2 fruits.

LOL it must have been one good pear, sweeter knowing that the tree was able to bear fruit.

Hi,

I am looking for a health plan and exercise regimen for toning the body, specifically my stomach. I do not want to lose a single kilo, just want to tighten up and firm up.

Please may you help me.

Thanks in advance,

Yes I know sit ups but there are so daunting. I guess you have to work to get what you want.

Thanks for the info,

PorcelainSkin,

something you can do, practically anytime and anywhere is to draw in your stomach, hold it and then release. Keep repeating as often as you can and whenever you remember and I promise you in no time you will see a toning in your stomach. It does really work and as you are not looking to really loose any weight, I think will be ideal for you.

I have alittle fat on my stomach that I would like to get rid of and tone my stomach. So I can do those exercises while sitting in addition to exercising, right?

You can do it absloutely anytime,...... laying down in bed, standing up, sitting down. The more often you do it, the better. Not only are you working the stomach muscles but after a while you will begin to train the stomach to stay more taunt. Just dedicate yourself to it and you will feel the difference.

I do palates and I'm lean.

My brother did something called hip hop abs and he lost about 15 pounds in the first month. He kept it up and has since gone from 200 to 130 and he always does this which has kept him in shape.
