For some people having oily skin is simply a genetic thing. If it’s in your genetics, there is not much you can do to change it. Oily skin can be particularly troublesome when you wear makeup. Makeup and oil skin usually result in blackhead and pimple breakouts. However, you can use foundation for oily skin that helps solve this problem.
Now there are many foundations out there, and not all of them are good for oily skin care. Not everyone can afford all the high end brands like Estee Launder, Shiseido, and Lancome. I personally prefer over-the-counter, mid-ranged oily skin solutions.
Ideally, you should not wear any makeup at all while you have skin blemish problems -- the is probably the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. However, you won't find too many women willing to forgo makeup.
Here Are The Best Foundation For Oily Skin Recommendations:
Bourjois Happy Light Foundation
Make sure you are not fooled by “light” in the title name. This is actually a medium coverage foundation. I’ve found the Bourjois Happy Light Foundation really does a fantastic job of covering up all of my acne and blackhead blemishes. This foundation does a particularly good job at covering acne marks on the forehead as well – so well that there is no need of using concealer at all. There are some claims out there that this product is only good for dry skin. In my experience, this is not the case. As someone with oily skin, this skin care product feels nice. Your skin may look shiny after applying this, but it’s a great deal compared to higher end products. You may have trouble trying to find this product in the drugstore – I suggest looking on eBay or Amazon for it
Everyday Minerals
The second best foundation for oily skin. This foundation works great and provides very good cover. The biggest difference between this and the Bourjois foundation is that you have to use a concealer for the bigger blemishes. You can’t argue with the price though – it’s a great deal. One thing I like about this it blends in quite naturally with the skin. It’s pretty hard to dell I’m even wearing makeup when I put this on.
I’ve been using this product for a while and so far, it has not caused any acne breakouts. So if you are acne prone and looking for a foundation, I suggest this one – provided that you are willing to use concealer as well.
Bourjois 10-hours sleep foundation
Another foundation that I really love. This foundation is for those “sweats” and “slacks” days. I will use this oily skin foundation when I don’t care about looking absolutely flawless – which is most of the time. Every woman needs some casual “about and about” makeup – and this delivers. The foundation is kind of like a tinted moisturizer, but it still provides very strong coverage. The foundation itself is liquid and spreads along the skin easily. There are some downsides to this foundation, however. It absolutely sucks in humid, hot areas. After a couple hours, your skin really starts to look oily. So, don’t buy this foundation if you live in a hot and humid place. But on the positive side, it’s pretty good for every other type of weather – even dry, hot weather. This is one of the better foundations for oily skin though – it provides good cover and won’t cause blackheads or acne. In fact, if you are looking for some foundation for acne or foundation for blackheads, you should give this a go.
I find I don’t usually put on moisturizer unless the weather is particularly dry. I also avoid using primers. I haven’t found any primers for oily skin yet – the ones I’ve tried just cause acne outbreaks. In general, it’s hard to find makeup for acne prone skin.
You should always make a point of buying makeup for oily skin if you have blemishes on your skin though. I highly recommend using Rimmel Say Matte Powder with the above foundations. It complements the oily skin foundations very well, and really provides that finishing touch, without giving any breakouts. At 5 or so bucks a pop, it’s cheap as things go. If you really want to save or plan to buy in bulk, I suggest EBay – you can find some good deals on it.
So there we go, the best foundation for oily skin. I’ve spent many years searching for oily skin foundations and tried everything, both cheap and high end. These are the best of the bunch. The above foundations work really well if you have mild to medium acne. They will pretty much cover all your acne breakouts. If you are in need of even more coverage (say you suffer from something like sever acne), I recommend different foundations and more concealer. The problem with heavy coverage foundations is that they really clog your pores, contributing to the acne problem!
