Just wanted to ask you, as I think I saw a post on another board about there being another version of nadinola, namely a jamaican version. The reason I am asking is that I was in my hairdresser's recently and a woman came in asking about whether my hairdresser would be bringing any back from Jamaica as she was due to fly out the next day. My haridresser replied she would be bringing back a few case loads and this lady was insistent that she save some for her and her daughter to buy. Had no idea that my hairdresser was doing this as a sideline !!

The thing is I have no idea whether she uses the stuff herself, but she has beautiful flawless light skin and to be honest, I could not tell whether this is natural or she has been enhancing herself. I did start to look at her knuckles LOL !! which did look a little darker than the rest of her hands but it wasn't majorly bad, like when you know someone may definitely be lightening.

So just wanted to know whether the stuff in Jamaica is the same as what is being sold on the net. I would not dream of asking her, as I do not want to make her start looking at me, but it would be nice to know, because as I said her skin looks really lovely.

By the way GG how is your regime going?

LOL...the knuckels...the tell-tell sign of knowing many who are lightening... you should ask to take a look at the box out of curiosity, to see which brand it is. And maybe even asking how many shades she has lightened [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] necause with some you never know.. Although mercury may lighten the skin quite well, unfortunately the mercury deposits are collected in the uterus and overies.

Yeah, rubbing the Jamaican brand is the equivalent to rubbing battery car acid on the skin. The L'Oreal Nadinola products are free of any form of mercury or steroids. It contains 3% hq, more than the required OVT amount but is a dermatological amount 3-4% hq (for those who do not like hq). So what the hair dresser is selling on the sideline can be the same one sold on the net, I have the pic below. I heard many hairdressers are selling things like this on the side, even here in the US...interesting.

The original L'Oreal Nadinola Skin Discoloration Fade Cream must be manufactured and exported from only Strickland & Co. in Olive Branch, Mississippi, U.S. which is a respectful company. The L'Oreal Nadinola Skin Discoloration Fade Cream, Extra Strength Formula made in Mssissippi, U.S.:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The Jamaican Nadinola which is a seperate product of it's own manufacture from a different company with no affilation. The Jamainca Nadinola's complete name is De Luxe Nadinola Bleaching Cream awhich does post "3% ammonium mercury" and is a 100% Jamaican product:

I'm still using the Nadinola extra strength, retina 0.05%, Neutrogena pink grapefruit scrub, and the sunblock and I have to say I am really liking it. I have about 1-2 weeks left of the Nad and then I'll give the f&w exclusive whitenizer a shot, then maybe switch bak to Nad since I have like 3 jars left. I say it had lightened me about 1.5+ shades and helped fade my acne scars a bit. I didn't think I lightened dramatically from it, but a couple of my friends and my mom were asking me what I was using on my face and how it looked much lighter and even. I said neutrogena and vitamin A acid....no need to mention the other thing I got from Walmart [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ...lol

I was using it 1x-2x daily so that I wouldn't have familar people starring too hard in my face for the sudden change. I used a bit on my lower arms with the lactic peel as well and it lightened my arms there, which I was surprised because I awsn't applying it there consistently.

well the thing is that she did not have any of the nadinola to sell to this lady and it looks like as part of her trip to Jamica she was going to buy a few box loads to bring back to sell. I can see that the two versions look totally different so the next time I see her, I will have to see if I can check what she has. She did mention that she was planning to create a little area to sell stuff, so hopefully I can just check things out discreetly LOL !!!

Nice to hear the nadinola is working well for you. You are totally right to go easy with the application if you are not wanting people to see a dramatic difference and start chatting LOL. The good thing is that it also has not hindered what you were seeing when you were using the 4% from ADC, so it is good substitute if you want to switch between the two.

I am hearing really great things about the F & W so can' wait to see what you think when you start using it.

yeah, good idea if you can sneak in a good peak. Maybe even act clueless and act as though it as some kind of moisturizer..lol, because if it is the Jamaican verison with mercury, you'll know from their front cover printed in bright writing. Maybe you can mention to her of some other lightening products she can sell that are safer?

Yeah, at first I was glad it didn't stop or reverse results from the 4%, as I as skeptical at first it being 3%, open jar lid, and glass jar. But I began to notice some difference by the 1 st week for me, nothing at all dramatic ...but more even and slightly lighter. But, I had really miscalculated the days I had left because I actually ran out yesterday morning. So I opened another to continue with my neck, ears, and scars. But last night I started using the F&W exclusive whitenizer since I have mostly read only positive from this product...so, we'll see how March and the rest of this month will be.

Hi Cordellpuss, glad to have you here. How well is the product Vichy working, seems to be a good product since it contains hyaluronic acid and retinol. Maharani doesn't use the Jamaican nadinola, but one of her associates possibly uses this and sell it to others without knowing the dangers if it. But, not exactly 100% sure if it's the Jamaican version or not yet.

Keep us updated on your progress. And I'll read on Metasol and put out a warning for it, thanks again.

Bj I had used the L'Oreal Nadinola for several weeks and it had lightened quite well and also helped lightened the acne marks some too. I purchased mine from Walmart and Amazon.

Really? that's great, thanks.
Glad to hear that you are seeing progress. Is this the Vichy that you are referring to "Vichy Bi White Advanced" [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]? They seem to have nice skin lightening ingredients for the Corrective Care "Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid at 3%), Liquorice Extract, Vitamin E (tocopherol), patented molecule Procystein", etc. Which of the products are you using and for how long so far?

Metasol? Cordellpuss I have heard of this but didn't know much about it though. what were the symptoms for this? 6 weeks must have shown really nice results and sounds interesting. Has it lightened in shades so far, if so how many? sorry for all the questions.

I went to walmart today and purchsed a couple of the l'oreal nadinola and the neutrogena grapefruit scrub so we will see if I have any success with it [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

HI Bj you are welcome with all your questions no need to be sorry. The Metasol lighten really fast i went from the singer Kelly Rolland colour to two shades lighter in one month.I only use it for two months because of bad side effects like thinning skin and bumps so i would'nt recommend it. the six weeks results i'm talking about is from the product (Vichy Liftactiv Retinol HA) which i'm currently using to correct the damage caused from Metasol.

Hi Bj, As well as GG's results it seems there are a lots of thumbs up for the Nadinola which has 3% HQ. There are some who are also trying HQ 4% from Allday Chemist with varying results. Both are inexpensive, so may be worth a try. You may want to think about investing in some Retin A as well, as this seems to help with the lightening process. You can start with a low percentage and increase if desired. The most crucial thing though, is to make sure that if you try any retin A or HQ products that sun protection is a MUST. Let us know what you decide to try

Yeah, I was somewhat surprised to see a $5 lightening creme from Walmart that's free of steroids actually was able to lighten my overall skin and my acne scars a bit. Although I'm now using fair & white on my face, I'm still using it on my neck and ears and they are lightening really well.

I tried to do some reading on Metasol products and they definately look sketchy with a capital S. Though, all I could find was that they contain hq as a lightener, although someone had mentioned that it had been banned in her area for containing mercury. But, I couldn't find any information to support this. Great idea to have it tested, and I wouldn't be surprised if their are some hidden substances in their products.

Don't worry, most of us concentrate on the skin lightening we can acheive and may not be aware of the negatives of what some products can do. Especially when the ingredients lists are not fully posted on the labels. That is how they get the customers to buy by tricking us.

How long were you using Nadinola? And did you mix it with Retin A or did you apply it after the Retin A?
