please tell me what is so wrong with using steroids. I have tried just about every thing and have seen minimal results. I know that steroids can give you rapid lightening. So can I use it for a while and move to something else. It is so depressing when nothing seems to work.

I understand what your saying but it can be a slippery slope using steroids. I unwittingly used it and my skin started to thin. Thank God I realised and stopped before it got bad. Another member here got stretch marks and really bad bruising. It really isn't worth it. I did get lighter but I don't wanna ruin my skin. It can permanently disfigure

I am no expert but yogi is right, you need to be very careful if this is the road that you intend to go down. You can cause damage using it so personally I would exhaust other options. What are you thinking of using and what would you use to maintain the results?

What if I used it for a few weeks and then used something else. I want to try neoprosone which someone recommended to me or civic. I haven't worked out what to use after because nothing seems to have really worked so far

None of us are dermatologists or skin specailists so to say yes it is ok would not be good. People who are under the care of a derm can be monitored to make sure that the steroids are used correctly and safely. Yes steroids can be used but I would suggest only really when supervised. I am not saying that in 3 weeks that you could cause damage but you do this at your own risk. Google steroid skin damage and I am sure you will come across inforamtion that will make you a little cautious about using them.

Thank you for your response. I didn't buy it anyway so will see what else works first.

I don't know how dark you are but you need to make sure that your goals are realistic. You cannot expect to go from Wesley Snipes to Alicia Keyes, for example, unless you are going to use something that is probably going to cause damage in the long run and is going to very likely be hard to maintain. Like I said steroids can give quick and significant results but all at a cost. Hopefully you will pick up from here something that will help you to achieve your goals.

Oh no I doubt I would ever get as light as Alicia but I would be satisfied with being 2 or 3 shades lighter

That is a realistic goal and hopefully you will be able to see some lightening on your routine

I hope so too! I dont think that I am asking too much. I have seen people who have lightened beyond recognition and I just want a few shades

I wonder how those people cope with people's comments regarding the drastic change. Even when I used makari and lightened quite a bit I was totally paranoid about what people were thinking but I know that people have lighten a hella lot more than me

I wonder that too. I know that there will be lots of nosy people wanting to know what's up when my lightening kicks in but I don't think I will achieve anything drastic

I wish I had your confidence. I think I have one of the faces where people feel they can say what they like and they will always have a smart answer for whatever I say. I better get practicing for my smart response

lol we sound like twins. It makes me keep myself to myself sometimes but I feel that as time goes by I am increasing in confidence and seeing that those people who can be hurtful in their remarks and actions are often unpleasant overall and are not worth my time or worries

If you read a lot of self improvement books and topics that explain about different personalities it does make you more resiliant when it comes to poeple's bad behaviour. It makes you want to rise above it all and try and inject a bit of your own happiness into a world that can sometimes seem very awful. I am learning each day to forgive
