Think again, the case for sun protection is this simple:
sun exposure causes skin cancer and research has proved that
skin cancer is the commonest form of cancer
malignant melanoma is the most dangerous form of cancer and numbers are rising each year

no sunscreen is not a luxury but indeed a necessity if you have to go outside more often. for protecting your skin from sun rays, sunblock is important. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Suncreen is a MUST if you are lightening or not. This should be a step that you use EVERYDAY. The sun is the number one cause for wrinkles and aging of the skin.

Protecting the skin against sun's UV rays is a must to maintain the skin's nature and to avoid future disturbances.

Hello,
I think sun screen is sometime necessary as sun damages our skin. so it helps to protect the skin from sun. So i don't think sunscreen is an unnecessary luxury.
