A healthy lifestyle! What you eat and drink and how you treat your body, has an effect on your hair. You need to eat enough fresh fruits and vegetable, drink enough water and exersise regularly for blood circulation. (1) keep the scalp clean and healhty (2) wash and condition hair two or three times per week. (3) use good moisturizing products.(4) use less heat, flat iron, curling iron, blow dryers etc. (5) get regular trims. (6) massaging the scalp for ten minutes daily.(7) sleep on a silk pillow or cover your hair with a scafe.

I'll like to also add to the list. Mixing honey and a natural oil like olive oil to your shampoo and conditioner helps condition your hair. Also massaging the scalp with your fingertips 5min day can help stimulate the blood flow, which the roots need.

How can honey help my hair to grow? How does blood circuation help my hair to grow?

Blood circulation increase to your head can keep the nutrients flowing to your sclap , which helps promote stronger hair. Blood flowing to your sclap will also help to open up the pores that will stimulate hair growth. Honey i think helps the hair to feel soft and look shinny.

thanks for explaining cordellpuss. I think it would be better to have someone massage my scalp for me [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . But, I'm trying to get in the habit to massaging my scalp before going to bed.

I used to massage my scalp each evening, but not as much as I used to. I agree that this simple method is effecive with helping the nutrients through blood flow in reaching he scalp more effectively.

I would also like to suggest that when washing and conditioning your hair with warm water in order to open the hair shaft, thus allowing moisture to enter. Rinse with cool water in order to effectively close the hair shaft and seal in the moisture and to help prevent breakage. Not to worry, your scalp will return to it's original blood temperature.

What about deep conditioning hair, how many times a week?

It depends on your hair type.
I usually deep condition my hair once a week using a shower cap, heated large towel, natural heated oils mixed with honey or mayonnaise (not the dressing kind). I keep my hair wrapped in this between 4 hours up to overnight.. and no, it isn't very comfortable.

I'm not an expert but here is my 2cents on the matter. I have hair to my hips (it would have been longer but I am always trimming the ends because it grows in a fairy tale ..v like). I wash once per week using natural shampoos, nothing that contains sulphates. I use a clarifying shampoo once per month (to save money you can always add baking soda to your regular shampoo). I use coconut oil to give it that sheen or shiny looking hair. It also leaves the hair smooth, frizz free and it does not weigh down the hair. I use any kind of conditioners that I can lay my hands on. I try to deep condition my hair once per week just before my hair wash. This is not always possible but I somehow try. I eat plenty fruits and veggies along with my meals.
For color I use pure henna, chemicals damaged my hair and of course I abused it for several years using hair dyes and harsh shampoos. HTH.

To your hips!! Shocked wow and I thought my hair was long being mid-back! I truly hope you'll write a thread here on your hair regimen, products used, and hair history Smile I agree, I love using cold-pressed coconut oil for my hair and the smell is appetizing, makes hair soft, and holds in moisture nicely.

Do you relax your, wear it natural, pressed, etc? thanks.

LOL GG. No fortunately I do not relax or straighten my hair. My hair is naturally straight but I used perms in the past to get what...Curls!! I used to straighten the hair after a curly perm and that caused a ton of damage to my hair. I use organic coconut oil in my hair maybe two or 3 times per week but just the length.
I will work on that thread for you guys. If people just take their time and care for their hair, their hair will take care of them. I try to always use natural products and that is what I will recommend to everyone.

YaaY..lol. ok, I sound like a kid now.

I wear my hair natural curls now for 10 years, though I cut several inches from time to time for a "new look". Before then, I had used chemicals to straighten and treated it harshly at the time I didn't understand why my hair was so damaged. I agree, taking the time of knowing what our the hair need in order to see it's potential. I recall my grandmother's hair was to her bottom and was straight, she was half cherokee. My hair is curly and how I was handling it at the time caused much breakage.

Still learning new tips and growth. I do press my hair with a 100% ceramic flat iron from time to time, so preventing overdrying my hair and staying moisturized.

Coconut oil is very nice for skin too and to cook with, separate jars of course. Anyone here tried egg yolk and egg white or should that be a no no since it's basically animal?

Kandiluv, I have tried the egg mixed with henna treatment. I hate it because my hair was smelling of eggs! Be careful of using too much protein based product because it will dry out your hair and cause breakage.

Does the egg smell last for very long or does it eentually fade within an hour or 2?

If you rinse real well and then you can rinse with a mixture of cool water and apple cider vinegar to help remove any traces og egg and egg smell. And rinse again with just cool water, the vinegar smell won't last long.

According to me you should use eggs and wash your hair with yogurt. Both tips are really effective and most useful to make strong and growth fast to your hair.Do it 3 to 4 times in a week.

This may seem gross but trust me it works. This is especially good if you don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for store bought products. You want to take a big bowl and mix the following:
Milk (provides Vitamin D)
Orange Juice ( Vitamin C)
Flour ( Vitamin E)
Mayonnaise (Essential nutrients)
Peanut butter

After you have mixed this you want to apply it to your hair and let it sit for a good 15 minutes. You want to make sure you rub the mixture into your scalp. Make sure you follow all of the ingredients, this is legitimate. I used it on my daughter and her hair is down past her waist. It grew from her shoulders to her waist in about a week.
Good luck, Hope it helps.
